Niki’s Quick Six, the Parks Township bar where a woman was killed and three others were shot early Sunday, said in a Wednesday statement that the incident was “tragic and unacceptable.”
The bar, located just across the Kiski River from Vandergrift, is “fully cooperating with authorities” the statement posted on Facebook said.
The statement also offered condolences to affected families.
“The safety and well-being of our patrons and employees remain our highest priority,” the statement said.
The shooting, which left 34-year-old Jessica Hilliard dead, began after an altercation in the parking lot outside of Niki’s around 1 a.m., according to police.
State police charged David James Dunmire, 36, of Vandergrift with one count of homicide, three counts of attempted homicide as well as aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person.
A criminal complaint filed against Dunmire said he become involved in a physical altercation outside the bar, which prompted bystanders to intervene.
That included Hector Saballos, Dominik Dellach, Hilliard and bartender Rebecca Boston, according to police.
As the altercation ended, Dunmire pulled out a 9 mm handgun, police said.
He shot Boston, and then wounded Saballos and Dellach as they ran away, the complaint said.
Dunmire then returned to where the altercation began and shot Hilliard multiple times in the chest, according to the complaint.
Hilliard, an Apollo resident, died at the scene. Loved ones remembered her as a caring mother and kindhearted friend.
The bar also reposted GoFundMe online fundraisers for Hilliard, Dellach and Saballos.
State police did not immediately respond to a TribLive request for comment.
