Emma Hays hit a three-run home run in the third inning to lead Trib HSSN Class 3A No. 2 South Park to a 7-3 nonsection softball victory over Class 5A No. 5 Baldwin on Wednesday.

Layla Pacifico tripled and drove in a run and Sydney Dubyak and winning pitcher Sydney Sekely each had two hits and an RBI for the Eagles (16-0). Jordan Gerendash doubled and drove in a run and Mackenzie Bowen tripled for the Highlanders (12-4).

Ellwood City 5, Avonworth 4 – Kiley LeViere hit the game-tying RBI single and Alexis Beck delivered the walk-off run-scoring single as Ellwood City (7-4, 6-3) scored three times in the seventh to win in Section 2-3A. Winning pitcher Amber McQuiston struck out 11 doubled twice and drove in a run for the Wolverines. Cara Kuban singled, tripled and drove in a run, Alexandra Savatt doubled and tripled and Ali Linhart tripled for Avonworth (9-7, 6-4).

Kiski Area 18, Woodland Hills 2 – Madison Rearic went 3 for 4 with a double and home run to lead Kiski Area to a nonsection victory over Woodland Hills. Kyla Hutcherson went 2 for 2 with a home run, Dakota Rainey and Aubrey Daily also homered and winning pitcher Aubrey West went 3 for 3 with two doubles and an RBI for the Cavaliers (12-5). Seraphim Hershman homered for the Wolverines (1-8).

Baseball

Frazier 16, Chartiers-Houston 12 – Brant Alekson singled, doubled and drove in three runs and Nick Porter went 2 for 2 with a double and an RBI as Frazier (7-9, 3-7) scored six runs in the top of the seventh for a comeback win in Section 1-2A. Camdon Stokes doubled and knocked in two runs and Chase Fulmer tripled for the Commodores. Cale Bitz went 4 for 4 with a double and three RBIs and Brady Gotfredson singled, homered and knocked in three for Chartiers-Houston (9-7, 5-5).

Girls lacrosse

North Catholic 10, Aquinas Academy 9 – Kate Geary had five goals, Elizabeth Long, Mia Gauthier, Samy Brennan, Gabby Hervert and Sarah Wehrli also scored and Maddie Hill made 10 saves to lead North Catholic to a Section 2-2A win.

Flag football

Plum 27, Greensburg Salem 0 – Peyton Charrie threw for 212 yards and three touchdowns and Caydence Morgan had five catches for 60 yards and a TD and also scored on an interception return to lead Plum (13-0) to a Section 3 win. Brooke Dugas had eight catches for 65 yardsand a touchdown and Kaiden Young also scored for the Mustangs.
