A Pittsburgh man was sentenced Thursday to serve 1½ to 3 years in prison for an assault of a man in an Arnold home in 2024, but he was given credit for serving a year of that sentence since his March 30, 2025 arrest.

Roger Moore, 48, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, simple assault and possession of a firearm without a license in connection to an incident at a Woodmont Avenue home.

Police said Moore assaulted a man he found in his girlfriend’s home, hit his victim in the head with a revolver, pointed the weapon at the back of his head and asked if he wanted to die.

According to court records, the victim was hospitalized for injuries suffered in the attack.

Westmoreland County Common Pleas Court Judge Christopher Feliciani handed down the sentence.
