Former IUP men’s coach Tom Beck died April 24. Beck, a Youngwood native, was 93.
He served the Crimson Hawks program for 16 years, the final five as head coach, compiling a record of 66-70.
A cause of death has not been released.
Beck is a member of the athletics halls of fame at IUP and Slippery Rock, where he earned all-PSAC West first-team honors as a senior.
His IUP teams reached the PSAC playoffs each season, including a pair of trips to the semifinals.
Beck is survived by his wife, Dorothy June (Turney) Beck; his children, David (Joan), Greg (Blair), Daniel and Christi Beck (Anthony); nine grandchildren; his sister, Marilyn Brown; and also several nieces and nephews.
