St. Brendan’s Episcopal Church

St. Brendan’s is an open, welcoming and active church that holds in-person worship with Eucharist at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Sundays, and 5 p.m. on Wednesdays. Sunday School for children of kindergarten age and up and nursery coverage for infants and toddlers is offered at the Sunday 10 o’clock service, which is livestreamed on YouTube.
The church holds a monthly Children’s Service, inviting young members to take part by reading and serving during the liturgy. The next Children’s Service will take place on May 31 at 10 a.m.
The Book Club will meet Monday, June 1, at 1 p.m., to discuss “The Lost Bookshop” by Evie Woods, a magical realism novel about three strangers whose lives become intertwined by a mysterious, vanishing bookshop in Dublin.
St. Brendan’s is making plans once again to march in this year’s Pittsburgh Pride Parade on Sunday, June 7.
Parishioners are collecting hand soap, deodorant, shampoo, body wash, toothpaste and toothbrushes for the North Hills Food Bank. Donations may be left in the church lobby.
Brendan’s Boots, the parish walking group, will take its next hike along North Park lake after meeting at the church on April 24 at 9 a.m. Lunch will follow at Over the Bar Cafe.
Sticks & Strings, the church group that likes to knit, crochet or embroider, meets on the third Tuesday and first Wednesday of the month at 6 p.m. in the library.

The Kids’ Community Closet is a “free-cycle” community space to share kids’ clothes (birth through size 14/16). All clothing is free and in good, very gently used condition — some items still have tags on. There are no applications, income requirements, or donations necessary.
