Former One Direction member Zayn Malik on Friday announced the cancellation of his U.S. tour, which included a Pittsburgh stop this summer.
The pop singer, who released his latest solo album, “Konnakol,” on April 17, had been slated to perform on July 20 at PPG Paints Arena.
Malik had been hospitalized in April for an unspecified illness, with People reporting he had been scheduled to meet with a top cardiologist.
“To my fans: Thank you so much for all the support and love you’ve shown me on the album release and more importantly your love, prayers, and well wishes for my health,” Malik wrote on Instagram, according to variety.com. “I’ve felt it, and it’s meant the world. I’ve been at home recovering and I’m doing well and will be better and stronger than before. I’ve had to take another look at my schedule for the months ahead and have to reduce the number of shows on the KONNAKOL Tour.”
According to a posting on PPG Paints Arena’s website, refunds will be issued to the original method of payment, with funds appearing within 14-21 days.
Although his U.S. tour has been cancelled, Malik still has shows scheduled for the United Kingdom in May, Mexico in June and South American in October.

This is just the latest high-profile tour to get cancelled. In April, “All About That Bass” singer Meghan Trainor cancelled her Get In Girl tour, which had a July 11 show scheduled for PPG Paints Arena. On Friday, Post Malone postponed the start of his stadium tour with Jelly Roll and cancelled some shows altogether. (Post Malone and Jelly Roll hit PNC Park in 2025.)
