A New Jersey man shot a woman multiple times during an argument at Moraine State Park in Butler County early Saturday morning, according to state police.
State police charged Jevonn J. Brown, 31, with attempted homicide, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.
State police said troopers from the Butler barracks responded to a reported shooting on Bear Run Road in Muddy Creek Township around 3:20 a.m.
State police said Brown and a 29-year-old woman are both from Westampton, N.J. and in a relationship. They were visiting the area.
According to state police, Brown and the woman began arguing, during which Brown fired a pistol at the woman, who was sitting inside a vehicle. She was struck multiple times.
The woman was treated at the scene and taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, state police said. No information on her condition was provided.
State police said Brown was taken into custody but gave no details on the circumstances of his arrest. He was being held in the Butler County jail, state police said.
