The weather was cold, but the runners were ready for the 2026 Pittsburgh Marathon.

Racers took off Sunday morning — some starting as early as 6:50 a.m. — along their 26.2- or 13.1-mile trek through Pittsburgh’s neighborhoods.

It was a brisk 35 degrees at the race’s start, but that didn’t keep the runners, or the spectators, discouraged. People seemed hyped up for the big event despite the coldest start to the annual race since at least 2009.
