An open letter to Rep. Guy Reschenthaler:

Last month, I attended an event to which you had been invited. Of course, you weren’t there, but you had sent an aide. As information about older adults in Pennsylvania was discussed — their need for health care, adequate food, enough caregivers in facilities, financial support — the panelists offered numerous thoughts about how such needs might be met at state and federal levels. Several times, panelists directly spoke “to the legislators in the room.” One state legislator seated near me was taking notes. I didn’t see your aide taking notes.

Your absence from your constituents has been noted repeatedly. To us, you are the invisible man. Your aide’s presence at the event was more of the same. It seemed his attention was elsewhere, not at all on the work legislators could do to improve the lives of over 240,000 adults, age 60 and over, who live in your district. Nothing could have represented your tenure better than that aide’s inattention.

I can’t wait to vote for Alan Bradstock, your opponent in November.
