Ambridge 16, Quaker Valley 1 – Eli Hartman and Evan Francis each homered and drove in four runs to power Ambridge (8-9) to a nonsection win. Henry Zupanc doubled and plated a run for Quaker Valley (8-9). Winning pitcher Joe Leseiko doubled for the Bridgers.
Aquinas Academy 11, Rochester 2 – Brendan Roney went 2 for 3 with a triple and three RBIs and Jack Stanton went 2 for 3 with three RBIs to lead Aquinas Academy (9-5, 5-5) to a Section 2-A win, eliminating Rochester from playoff contention. Braeden Siget tripled and drove in a run for the Rams (4-9, 3-7).
Beaver 14, North Catholic 4 – Maddox Tanner went 3 for 3 with a home run and three RBIs, Eli Maze doubled and plated a pair of runs and Joshua Derringer got the win as Beaver (13-5, 9-3) dropped North Catholic (5-12, 3-9) in Section 1-4A. Landon Petok doubled and drove in a run for the Trojans.
Bethel Park 5, Mt. Lebanon 1 – Nick Rillo drove in a pair of runs, Eric Miehl went 2 for 3 with an RBI and winning pitcher Matthew Hughes gave up one run on six hits and struck out seven in a complete game as Bethel Park (10-8) defeated Mt. Lebanon (12-7) in nonsection play. Cameron Mayer doubled and had an RBI for the Blue Devils.
Burgettstown 5, Fort Cherry 2 – Blake Neal drove in two runs and Jayden Roach plated another as Burgettstown (8-10, 6-6) handed Fort Cherry (16-1, 11-1) its first loss in a Section 1-2A win. Colton Temple and Blake Sweder each had a hit and an RBI for the Rangers. Matt Bredel got the win for the Blue Devils.
Butler 10, Allderdice 0 – Karsten Lenyk homered and drove in three runs, Boden Lenyk doubled and had two RBIs and Jacob Szbalskie tripled and had an RBI as Butler (16-3) shut out Allderdice (9-10) in nonsection play. Ryan Rattigan got the win for the Golden Tornado.
California 9, Chartiers-Houston 7 – Logan Hartley tripled and had three RBIs, Eli Carpenter went 3 for 3 with an RBI and Easton Daniles tripled as California (13-6, 10-2) beat Chartiers-Houston (9-9, 5-7) in Section 1-2A. Cale Bitz finished with a pair of RBIs and Parker Riggle tripled and knocked in a run for the Buccaneers. The result coupled with Frazier’s 8-4 win over Beth-Center secured the fourth and final playoff spot in the section for the Commodores.
Canon-McMillan 10, Baldwin 0 – MJ Maruschak (eight strikeouts) and Matthew Kocan (two strikeouts) combined on a five-inning shutout while Sebastian Shulsky went 3 for 3 with a double and four RBIs and Troy Stimpson homered, doubled and knocked in a pair as Canon-McMillan (15-4) beat Baldwin (11-7) in nonsection play. Hudson McKain had a hit for the Highlanders.
Carlynton 16, Springdale 1; Carlynton 10, Springdale 1 – Carlynton (7-10, 5-7) swept Springdale (2-14, 0-12) in a Section 3-2A doubleheader. In Game 1, Dominic Ciabattoni brought home four runs and winning pitcher Eric Firle gave up one unearned run on three hits and struck out eight while going 3 for 3 at the plate with a double and three RBIs for the Cougars. Wyatt Warywoda and Vince Howard each doubled for the Dynamos. In Game 2, Isaac Anker went 2 for 4 with two RBIs and Tyler Heinrich went 3 for 5 and knocked in a run for Carlynton. Joe Rosio, Eric Mannas and Jordan Ricci each had a hit for Springdale.
Carmichaels 11, West Greene 1 – Cooper Richards went 2 for 4 with four RBIs, Dominic Yazzani doubled and Owen Ray got the win as Carmichaels (8-9, 7-5) rocked West Greene (2-16, 2-10) in Section 1-A. Gavin Roberts doubled for the Pioneers. The result eliminated Jeannette from playoff consideration.
Charleroi 11, Waynesburg 10 – Brayden Todaro hit a solo home run while Dylan Klinger, winning pitcher Brock Henderson and Jake Corrin each doubled and plated a run as Charleroi (10-8, 7-5) clipped Waynesburg (7-12, 6-6) in Section 4-3A. DJ Reese doubled and knocked in two runs while RJ Whyel and Jarrett Tretinik each doubled and had an RBI for the Raiders.
East Allegheny 10, Avella 7 – Jesse Kelley singled, doubled and drove in three runs and Tanner Loya had three hits and three RBIs to lead East Allegheny (1-15) to its first victory. Chas Rush singled, doubled and drove in two runs and Brayden Fuller had a single and two RBIs for Avella (11-7).
Elizabeth Forward 5, Uniontown 0 – Nate Grimm yielded three hits and struck out seven in a complete game shutout while Jacob Peterson went 2 for 3 with four RBIs as Elizabeth Forward (13-6, 11-1) defeated Uniontown (9-10, 4-8) in Section 2-4A. Shane Kelly doubled for the Red Raiders.
Frazier 8, Beth-Center 4 – Tyler Morrison singled, doubled and drove in a run and Chase Fulmer had two hits and two RBIs as Frazier (9-9, 5-7) clinched a playoff berth for the first time since 2013 with a Section 1-2A win. Enzo Brown doubled and knocked in two runs for Beth-Center (1-16, 1-11).
Freedom 7, Shenango 4 – Nick Fessler drove in two runs, Zach Kuntz tripled and knocked in a run and Jonny Davis doubled and brought home a run to lead Freedom (8-10, 8-4) to a Section 2-2A win. Trey Ross doubled and plated two runs for Shenango (11-8, 7-5). Garrett Drutarosky got the win and Fessler picked up a save for the Bulldogs.
Freeport 5, Southmoreland 0 – Kason Barker went 3 for 3 with a home run and two RBIs and winning pitcher Gage Blystone gave up three hits and struck out eight in a complete-game shutout as Freeport (17-0, 12-0) defeated Southmoreland (1-18, 0-12) in Section 3-3A. Trey Schreckengost and Luke Whitfield each plated a run for the Yellowjackets.
Greensburg Central Catholic 16, Mapletown 1 – Winning pitcher Anthony Grippo went 3 for 3 with a triple, a double and six RBIs and Tyler Samide homered, doubled and finished with four RBIs for Greensburg Central Catholic (14-0, 12-0) in a rout of Mapletown (3-17, 0-12) in Section 1-A. Sam Moritz had a hit for the Maples.
Hopewell 11, Blackhawk 1 – Winning pitcher Benjamin McDonald homered and knocked in two runs while James Gill and Jacon Knobloch each had two RBIs as Hopewell (13-5, 8-4) thumped Blackhawk (11-6, 7-5) in Section 1-4A. Samuel Saliba went 2 for 3 with an RBI for the Cougars.
Jeannette 6, Jefferson-Morgan 5 – Winning pitcher Wyatt Schaeffer doubled and later brought home the winning run with a single in the bottom of the eighth to lift Jeannette (10-7, 6-6) past Jefferson-Morgan (11-9, 7-5) in Section 1-A. Brayden Ellsworth doubled twice and had an RBI and Joey Bair drove in a run for the Rockets. Noah Rattigan went 3 for 3 with two RBIs for the Jayhawks, who were eliminated from playoff contention when Carmichaels defeated West Greene.
Keystone Oaks 7, Washington 4 – Brandon Kaminski collected two doubles and two RBIs while winning pitcher Max Boehm went 2 for 3 with a pair of RBIs for Keystone Oaks (9-9, 7-5) in a Section 4-3A victory. William Callan had two hits and two RBIs for Washington (8-12, 4-8).
Kiski Area 5, Penn Hills 0 – Winning pitcher Sawyer Ondish tossed a complete-game shutout, allowing four hits and striking out 12 while driving in a run at the plate to lead Kiski Area (6-10, 5-7) to a Section 1-5A win. Anthony Sipple went 2 for 3 with a triple for Penn Hills (1-14, 0-12). Brennan Corridoni drove in two runs for the Cavaliers.
Latrobe 5, Plum 1 – Aaron Gaskey took a no-hitter into the seventh inning as Latrobe (17-3, 9-3) defeated Plum (16-3, 9-3) to force a tie for second place in Section 1-5A. Noah Noel, Joe Razza and Josh Short each doubled and drove in a run for the Wildcats. With Gaskey out due to pitch count, Brennan Ryan hit a solo home run for the Mustangs.
Laurel 10, Northgate 0 – Luca Santini struck out 13 and tossed a complete game no-hitter as Laurel (10-6, 9-3) defeated Northgate (3-11, 2-10) in Section 2-2A. Kolton Carlson doubled and finished with four RBIs, Brayden Faulkner plated a pair and Zack Carbone doubled and drove in one for the Spartans.
Laurel Highlands 10, Ringgold 0 – Winning pitcher Jackson Johns gave up two hits and struck out nine in six shutout innings while Aiden Milsom doubled and had three RBIs and Nick Crouch doubled and plated two for Laurel Highlands (5-12, 2-10) in a Section 2-4A win. Kennedy Nash went 2 for 3 for Ringgold (9-10, 6-6).
Mars 11, Shaler 5 – Shane Creighan brought home three runs and Daniel Murray tripled, doubled and had two RBIs to support winning pitcher Zack Hugus as Mars (8-11, 5-5) rolled Shaler (4-15, 1-9) in Section 3-5A. Trey Kostorick knocked in a pair for the Titans. Jameson Garvin doubled and plated a run for the Fightin’ Planets.
Moon 7, Trinity 3 – Savario Vandetti and Jayden Bittner each plated two runs and Nick Machusko slugged a solo home run for Moon (15-4, 9-3) in a Section 2-5A win, eliminating Trinity from playoff contention. Owen Samogala and Jonah Williamson each homered and drove in a run for the Hillers (10-10, 5-7).
New Brighton 4, Neshannock 3 – Carter Jackson hit a walk-off RBI single to lead New Brighton (8-7, 7-5) to a Section 2-2A win. Coupled with Freedom’s win over Shenango, the result earned a playoff spot for the Lions. Jaxson Zahn had two hits and two runs scored for New Brighton. Nathan Rickel went 3 for 4 with two doubles and Ryan Cameron went 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI for Neshannock (16-3, 9-3).
Our Lady of the Sacred Heart 4, Riverview 1 – Colby Lane went 3 for 3 with two triples and three RBIs and Bruno Williams allowed one run on five hits in a complete-game win for OLSH (13-6, 9-3) in Section 3-2A, giving South Side the outright section title. Dom DelRosso singled and drove in a run for Riverview (12-5, 9-3).
Peters Township 5, South Fayette 4 – Gabe Marino walked with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh to force in the winning run for Peters Township (10-9, 6-6) in a Section 2-5A contest. Liam Wahl doubled and knocked in two runs and Jack Stewart got the win for the Indians. RJ Borgesi went 3 for 3 with a double and two RBIs for South Fayette (10-9, 7-5). Peters was eliminated from playoff contention due to tiebreakers.
Pine-Richland 7, New Castle 2 – Austin Cwynar tripled and drove in two runs, Ben Husted doubled and plated two and winning pitcher Owen Thompson struck out six over seven innings as Pine-Richland (14-5, 10-0) beat New Castle (10-9, 3-7) in Section 3-5A. Braden Girman drove in a run for the Hurricanes, who were eliminated from playoff contention.
Serra Catholic 16, Sewickley Academy 1 – Cole Hann went 3 for 3 with a double and four RBIs, Jake Anderson and Jacob Ramsey each doubled and knocked in three runs and Jake Jellison gave up two hits and struck out four in a three-inning shutout for Serra Catholic (12-6, 6-2) in a Section 3-A win. Billy Pietragallo tripled for Sewickley Academy (8-8, 3-5).
Seton LaSalle 8, McGuffey 1 – Mike Cejrowski doubled and drove in three runs. Ryan Kerr smacked a solo home run and Anthony LoCastro got the win as Seton LaSalle (14-2, 11-1) downed McGuffey (6-12, 4-8) in Section 4-3A.
Shady Side Academy 5, Bishop Canevin 3 – Ty McCaskey homered and knocked in three runs and winning pitcher David Dillon doubled twice and had an RBI as Shady Side Academy (11-7) beat Bishop Canevin (5-12) in nonsection play. Jakob Zahler went 2 for 3 with an RBI for the Crusaders.
South Side 7, Brentwood 5 – Ryan Shaw singled, doubled and drove in two runs and Dawson Frasier had two hits and an RBI as South Side (14-3, 10-2) clinched the Section 3-2A title outright. Evan Schubert went 3 for 4 with a double and two RBIs for Brentwood (4-13, 2-10).
West Allegheny 8, Fox Chapel 1 – Jack Sekelik doubled and brought home four runs, Kingston Henke went 3 for 4 with three RBIs and Zac Lucas doubled and plated a run to lead West Allegheny (12-6, 7-3) to a Section 3-5A win. Milan Fluhme drove in the only run for Fox Chapel (10-8, 4-6). Donovan O’Connor got the win for West A.
West Mifflin 9, Belle Vernon 3 – Derek Tudek hit for the cycle and drove in three runs, Eli Kurta smashed a solo home run and Jackson Fite got the win as West Mifflin (13-6, 9-3) dispatched Belle Vernon (13-4, 9-3) in Section 2-4A. Connor Bergman and Vito Francia each doubled and plated a run while AJ Watson went 2 for 4 with an RBI for the Leopards.

Courtney Roberts had a double, triple and two RBIs and Sia Spano went 3 for 5 with a double for Bethel Park (5-15).

WPIAL championships – Undefeated Shaler and Plum will be joined by Mt. Lebanon and Moon in the final four of the inaugural WPIAL tournament.
At Upper St. Clair on Thursday, the Titans (16-0) will face the Blue Devils (14-1) at 5 p.m. and the Mustangs (15-0) will take on the Tigers (12-3) at 6:30 p.m. with the winners to meet for the title at 8 p.m.
Shaler came out of Section 1, beating Fox Chapel, 39-0, and host North Allegheny, 19-0, on Tuesday.
Mt. Lebanon hosted the Section 2 quadrant of the bracket, beating Bethel Park, 48-0, and Upper St. Clair, 28-8.
Plum advanced out of Section 3 at Gateway, getting past Oakland Catholic, 13-12, and Latrobe, 32-18.
Moon came out of the Section 4 bracket at Montour, defeating Keystone Oaks, 29-13, and Seton LaSalle, 33-6.

Mars 12, Hill School 10 – Grant Weaver had five goals and an assist, Reed Fuller added two goals and two assists and Jack Tirch and Parker Osterman also scored twice to lead Mars to a nonsection win.

Latrobe 18, Yough 2 – Allyson Merchant had six goals and three assists to lead Latrobe to a nonsection win. Maddie Slater added three goals, Alexis White and Lexi Miele had two each and Lauren Helman, Emily Bizzak, Jenna Fierst, Jenna Coffey and Ryanne Lehman also scored.
