The Plum Area Ladies Society recently celebrated its annual banquet at Ebbie’s Craft Kitchen & Catering in Monroeville.
In addition to celebrating a successful year, the ladies society installed its new officers for the 2026-27 year.
The theme of the banquet was America’s 250th anniversary, as seen in the patriotic decorations.
PALS is a service/social organization open to women from Plum, Penn Hills, Monroeville and surrounding areas.
Some of the service projects the group has done in recent years include donating dog and cat food to Animal Protectors, hosting a baby shower for young women in the Pregnancy and Parenting group under Catholic Charities, donating new clothes and personal hygiene items for women at Hope Shelter, filling Christmas stockings for overseas military members through Military Connections and filling Easter baskets for children serviced by Plum Food Pantry.
PALS also offers a Ladies Day Out for members every month. Some of the places the members have gone include local restaurants, plays, movies, museums, a winery and an ice cream factory.
Members have developed lasting friendships through the meetings, service projects and Ladies Day Out activities.
Newcomers are welcome at meetings, always held at 6:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month September through April at the Plum Community Center.
