Polar World, the Carnegie Museum of Natural History exhibit giving a glimpse into Inuit culture and Arctic wildlife, will close June 28.

The area’s replica igloo, life-size dioramas and animal specimens have been staples of the museum for decades. It started development in 1978 before opening in 1983 as one of five exhibit halls to be added between 1980 and 1993.

Every piece of the exhibit will be cleaned and conserved, with some elements returning to other areas of the museum in Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood.

Museum officials haven’t said what will take over the hall, which is located just to the right of the grand staircase on the third floor.
