Forward Ryan McAllister’s goal at 3:10 of overtime gave the Wheeling Nailers a 4-3 win against the Maine Mariners in Game 1 of the North Division final series at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W. Va. on Friday.
Forwards Blake Bennett and Mike Posma, as well as defenseman Tristan Thompson, all scored goals for Wheeling, while defenseman Brent Johnson and forward Logan Pietila each contributed two assists.
Goaltender Taylor Gauthier made 27 saves on 30 shots to improve his postseason record to 5-1.
Game 2 of the best-of-seven series is scheduled for Saturday, 7:10 p.m. at Wheeling.
