A local qualifier for the Allegheny County Marbles Tournament will be held again from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at Harrison Hills Park in Harrison.
Siblings Lenna, 13, and Dorian Marlowe, 11, of Reserve, were the only children who turned out for first day of the two-day qualifier at the park’s Yakaon Shelter.
It’s the eighth qualifier to be held since late March, leading up to the tournament May 14-16 at the Allegheny County Courthouse courtyard in Pittsburgh.
The final qualifier will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. May 11-13 at Stone Ridge Park, 807 Dressel Road in Shaler.
In 2024, Dorian placed first in Allegheny County while Lenna placed third, with both advancing to the National Marbles Tournament in Wildwood, N.J. In 2025, Dorian placed second in the county and went to nationals.
This year’s 103rd national tournament is scheduled for June 21-26 in Wildwood.
The Allegheny County program is free for children ages 7 to 14. No registration is required.
