Allderdice dominated the middle and long distance races and the hurdles to sweep the boys and girls team titles at the City League track and girls championships Saturday.
On the boys side, Reeve Flotta won the 1,600 and 3,200 and Dav’Veion Lee swept the 110 and 300 hurdles while Abdul Jawula won the 400 and Aran McNutt the 800. Other boys wins for the Dragons on the boys side came from Amara Faty in the triple jump and the 3,200 relay team of Patrick Germaine, Kofi Opoku-Dakwa, Marc Lebita and Thomas Aldous.
Obama Academy finished second in the boys team race, led by sprinter Shakur Massey, who swept the 100 and 200 and led the 1,600 relay team to a win, and Demari Christmas, who won the discus and shot put. Other members of the winning relay team were Christopher Harris, Jaden Hefflin and Khalid Cato.
Carrick’s Ke-Juan Johnson won the high jump and long jump and Westinghouse’s Ke’ontae Robinson, Kingston Thornton, Jamarrow Trowery and John Bailey took the 400 relay.
For the Allderdice girls, Annie Hoffmier won the 1,600 and 3,200 and Jamera Green took the 100 and 300 hurdles.
Seena Teshome won the 400, Bailey White won the 800 and they teamed up with Taylor Ham and Annabelle Oberbarnscheidt to win the 1,600 relay.
Kailynn Manson was a double winner in the high jump and discus and Leah Alpert, Sasha Coupland, Ceci Passero and Zoe Densmore won the 3,200 relay.
Desirata Mensah-Agyekum had a big day for Westinghouse, winning the 100, 200 and long jump. Ariella Mensah-Agyekum took the triple jump title.
Perry got wins from Trinity Slayton in the shot put and Sayuri Brower, Anya Howell, Kalece Barnett and Dayjour Jordan in the 400 relay.
Baseball
Morgantown (WV) 10, Kiski Area 3 — Ryan Nipper and Lincoln Thornton drove in two runs each to lead Morgantown (WV) at PNC Park. Mason Bowers walked twice, scored twice and stole two bases for Morgantown (24-5). Slade Barton started and picked up the win, allowing one hit and two runs over 1⅓ innings. Zach Hald had both hits for the Cavaliers (7-11), including a double. Bryce Bowman and Cole Frescura drove in runs.
