Trib HSSN softball player of the week – Bria Bosiljevac

School – Shaler

Class – Senior

Position – Pitcher

#Earned – Like most high school seniors, Bria Bosiljevac has a lot on her plate as time ticks away on her high school days.

The Shaler senior prom is coming up soon, followed by practice for graduation and then the graduation itself.

Oh, and there is one other thing that has her preoccupied. Trying to help Shaler successfully defend its WPIAL Class 5A championship and win gold in the PIAA postseason in June.

If either or both of those things happen, Bosiljevac will be right in the middle of it as the Titans’ dominant pitcher.

A year ago, Shaler was the No. 2 seed in the Class 5A playoffs and reached the finals with wins over Connellsville, Trinity and West Allegheny by a combined score of 21-0.

In the epic district title game against top-seeded Penn-Trafford that went four innings beyond regulation, Bosiljevac was fantastic.

She pitched 11 innings, allowing one run on four hits with three walks and 17 strikeouts as the Titans won their fourth WPIAL championship and first since 2014.

In four district playoff games, Bosiljevac allowed one run on six hits with no-hitters against Connellsville and Trinity, and she struck out 60.

Shaler was hit by a championship hangover though as it lost in the opening round of the PIAA playoffs to Twin Valley, 4-3.

It was a loss that has haunted the Titans in the offseason and has fueled their fire in the 2026 campaign.

Shaler won the Section 1-5A crown by four games over Fox Chapel and Plum and finished the regular season with a record of 17-1.

The Titans will carry a 14-game winning streak into the postseason which begins Tuesday when they play the winner of the Moon vs. Upper St. Clair preliminary round game.

This season, Bosiljevac is 12-0 in the circle with a 0.56 ERA. She has allowed six earned runs and 27 hits in 83 innings pitched. She has given up 13 walks and has 171 strikeouts.

At the plate, she is batting .408 with 20 hits in 49 at-bats and has driven in 10 runs.

This past week, she picked up two more victories in the circle as Shaler defeated Burrell and Seneca Valley.

Bosiljevac is ranked 26th nationally in the Class of 2026 by On3.com.

She plans to continue her career at Indiana University. While playing for the Hoosiers, she hopes to study nutrition and become a dietician.
