The Latrobe Art Center is seeking a new operator for its in-house café following the announced retirement of longtime partner Rita Witte.
Witte’s business, Ricolita’s Café, is scheduled to close at the end of May. The Art Center, located at 819 Ligonier St., is inviting chefs, restaurateurs and coffee professionals to submit proposals to reimagine and manage the space beginning this summer.
“The café has long been an important and integral part of the overall visitor experience at Latrobe Art Center,” said Michael Tusay, the center’s executive director. “We are eager to partner with someone who can bring fresh ideas, energy and a shared vision.”
The selected operator will be responsible for daily operations, including staffing, marketing and maintenance. While the space has traditionally served breakfast, lunch and specialty coffee, officials said they are open to creative new concepts that integrate with the center’s gallery and programming.
Proposals are being accepted electronically through June 1. Interested parties should contact Tusay at 724-537-7011 or michael@latrobeartcenter.org to request the formal proposal document or schedule a site walkthrough.
