The U.S. Postal Service has found a unique way to honor the nation’s 250th anniversary, and it involves the creative expression of American fashion designer Ralph Lauren.

USPS announced Tuesday that the designer, best known for his iconic polo shirt and preppy American style, has put together a collection of 13 commemorative stamps.

The American Icons stamp collection features photographs selected from Ralph Lauren’s archive, reflecting the fabric of the nation and representing freedom, independence, equality, opportunity and the pursuit of happiness..

“His remarkable visual archive beautifully captures the aspirational spirit and shared values that have united Americans since before our nation’s founding,” said Sheila Holman, USPS vice president of marketing, in a news release.

Ralph Lauren Corp. was founded in 1967 by Ralph Lauren in New York City. The company began as a necktie line under the name “Polo,” before the brand rapidly expanded into full menswear and womenswear by 1971, according to the company website.

Ralph Lauren Corp. is now a global leader in luxury lifestyle products, including apparel, handbags, home goods, fragrances, hospitality, footwear and accessories.

Inspired by the artistry of the American Icons collection, the 2026 U.S. Flag Mail Use stamp will feature a detailed photograph of a knitted interpretation of the U.S. flag inspired by Ralph Lauren’s iconic Flag Sweater.

As one of the most widely used stamps in the U.S. postal system, it will be available in panes, booklets and coils in a smaller, definitive format for widespread mail use.

Other designs include the baseball glove used by Jackie Robinson, the Empire State Building, running horses, a hamburger, a teddy bear, a pickup truck, a lighthouse, a barn, a faithful dog, a racing sailboat and a Navajo blanket woven by Naiomi Glasses, according to the release.

Lauren was born in 1939 in the Bronx, New York, and received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2025.

Ralph Lauren’s team did not respond to an immediate request for comment Tuesday afternoon.

The collection will be unveiled June 9 at 11 a.m.

Other stamp issues set to premiere at the Boston 2026 World Exposition on May 23-30 to honor the anniversary include:
