Giant Eagle in partnership with GetGo announced additional chances to save on fuel through its loyalty program, as gasoline prices continue to rise.
Under the limited-time myPerks offer, customers can receive 50 cents off per gallon at GetGo for every $100 spent in qualifying transactions at Giant Eagle and Market District stores on Saturday and Sunday.
At the end of April, TribLive reported that gas prices had soared to their highest levels in four years, reaching about $4.30 per gallon nationally. Local prices are now closer to $5 a gallon.
Giant Eagle and GetGo said the limited-time promotion is designed to help customers save at the pump.
“For example, a $200 supermarket transaction will earn $1.00 off per gallon, a $300 supermarket transaction will earn $1.50 off per gallon, a $400 supermarket transaction will earn $2.00 off per gallon, and so on,” the news release said.
Customers can visit GiantEagle.com or the Giant Eagle mobile app beginning Saturday morning to activate the promotion. Then customers can visit any Giant Eagle or Market District location throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Indiana and Maryland. The offer is valid for both in-store shopping and for orders placed online through Giant Eagle’s curbside pickup and home delivery services.
The companies said there is no limit to the rewards customers can earn through this promotion, giving them the opportunity to earn a free tank of gas.
Perks rewards will be available for redemption immediately after the supermarket transaction is complete. Customers can choose to redeem their earned perks rewards either for a fuel discount at any GetGo location or for a grocery discount at Giant Eagle or Market District.
