The district playoffs are underway with the first round in the books in baseball and half of the opening-round softball games in the rearview mirror.
While there were no changes to the softball Trib 10 outside of some minor shuffling of a notch or two, there were some changes in baseball following a couple of Class 5A opening-round stunners.
Section 1-5A second-place teams Plum and Latrobe saw their seasons end a lot sooner than they hoped with first-round losses.
That opened the door for Canon-McMillan to return and for Ellwood City to debut.
The top power-ranked teams remain the same with Butler in baseball and Shaler in softball.
Here are the latest power rankings. Teams are listed with overall record and last week’s ranking.
These weekly rankings have zero classification boundaries.
