The Greensburg Rotary Club’s annual spelling bee for third grade students was held at Aquinas Academy in Greensburg.
Students from the Hempfield Area and Greensburg Salem school districts and Aquinas Academy participated.
The Greensburg Rotary Club started the spelling bee to expand on a literary program it launched more then 25 years ago, in which the club gave dictionaries to third grade students.
The spelling bee participants were selected based on performances in spelling tests and individual class spelling bees held throughout the school year.
