A pickup truck rear-ended a Burrell School District bus carrying Huston Middle School students while it was stopped at a stop sign around 8 a.m. Thursday.
District Superintendent Shannon Wagner said the children aboard were assessed by an ambulance crew on scene and again by the school nurse.
She said no students were injured.
“Buses are so resilient and designed to be protective,” Wagner said.
The incident was on 7th Street Road near Nanak Drive, Wagner said.
The students were transferred to another school bus with help from the school’s assistant principal and the district’s director of transportation and continued on to finish their school day.
Lower Burrell Police did not immediately respond to request for comment.
