Hempfield Township Founders Festival

Check out a packed weekend of fun activities while coming together with the community to celebrate Hempfield Township. This weekend-long festival offers something for all ages.

Kick off on Friday night with a movie night at Founders Park, where families can spread out a blanket and watch the recent blockbuster “Zootopia 2.” There will be concessions for purchase and food trucks on site. The movie will begin at dusk on Friday at the Yoga Deck.

On Saturday, the Community Festival will provide a variety of activities, from a kids’ zone to live performances to a vendor market to rubber duck races. There will also be hot air balloon and fireworks displays, and don’t forget to grab some tasty eats from a variety of food trucks. The celebration will last from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday.

Sunday will bring a Fun Run and wellness morning, starting at 7:30 a.m. at the Yoga Deck.

Sunday Fun Day: Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Celebration

The Westmoreland Museum of American Art is highlighting the rich and varied cultures of Asia and the Pacific Islands this Sunday with a free Fun Day.

The day will feature performances by Tuika’s Polynesian Island Magic, the Xiaobo Waist Drum Dance Group, and the OCA Performance Ensemble. There will also be hands-on activities for all ages, delicious cultural cuisine and an outdoor Zen garden.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Westmoreland Museum of American Art, 221 N. Main St., Greensburg. Admission is free. To learn more, visit thewestmoreland.org.

Westmoreland Arts and Heritage Festival Bingo Fundraiser

Have fun and raise money for the Westmoreland Arts and Heritage Festival with this day of bingo. On Sunday, gather for 22 games of bingo with a pool of $2,800 in prizes. Also included will be lunch, raffles, a 50/50 and more.

The event will start with lunch at 11 a.m. Bingo games will commence at 1 p.m. You can bring your own food, and the event is BYOB as well.

Eagles tribute

Considering their greatest hits album is still one of the best-selling records of all time, people can’t get enough of the Eagles. This tribute act will deliver all of their classic songs at Live Casino Pittsburgh.

“Desperado — The Ultimate Eagles Tribute Experience” will bring all of the great musicianship, stunning harmonies and iconic songs of the band to the stage, keeping the crowd singing along to the classics all evening long.

Fort Ligonier French Garrison Weekend

This weekend, Fort Ligonier will be highlighting the “French” in “French and Indian War” with a weekend focusing on what life for soldiers from France would have been like during the 18th century.

At the Upper Fort, reenactors will act out the daily lives of French soldiers and will interact with one another and visitors to interpret the mid-18th century day-to-day for these soldiers. This new perspective is free with admission to Fort Ligonier.
