McKeesport man arrested in connection with bank robbery

Allegheny County police have taken Keith Graves Jr. into custody after suspecting him of robbing Century Heritage Federal Credit Union in Versailles Borough.

Police said on May 8, Graves, of McKeesport, allegedly entered the bank, gave a note demanding money and pulled out a firearm. Police claim he threatened with the firearm before taking an undisclosed amount of money and fleeing the scene.

The piece of paper the note was written on was part of a school worksheet, and detectives were able to confirm it was part of a spelling sheet at a local elementary school.

On May 13, detectives reportedly received a laboratory report from the Allegheny County Office of the Medical Examiner that determined fingerprints on the note were a match to Graves, 39.

Graves is facing various charges including aggravated assault, robbery and terroristic threats.

Consumer alert for Prantl’s Bakery Shadyside location

The Allegheny Health Department released a consumer alert Thursday regarding the Prantl’s Bakery on Walnut Street in the Shadyside neighborhood of Pittsburgh.

According to the department’s report, the bakery had a presence of rodent dropping on multiple surfaces, damaged exterior walls, soiled food equipment, old food debris and accumulated non-essential items.

The department’s report called the pest management violations “high risk,” and claimed the space was not being properly cleaned.

To have the alert removed, the report said, the entire facility needs to be cleaned. All old food debris must be removed from all surfaces. Rodent droppings need removed from the facility and affected areas need cleaned and disinfected. All non-essential items in the basement and storage closets must be removed.

If the violations are not corrected within 10 days, the facility will be ordered closed.
