The Pittsburgh Steelers signed offensive tackle Max Iheanachor, the team’s first-round draft pick out of Arizona State.
The team on Friday announced a four-year contract with Iheanachor, but financial details were not disclosed. The 6-foot-6, 321-pound lineman was the 21st overall pick in last month’s NFL Draft.
Iheanachor is the seventh member of the 10-person draft class to sign.
Still unsigned are receiver Germie Bernard, quarterback Drew Allar and running back Eli Heidenreich. The Steelers begin OTAs on Monday, but draft picks can participate without having signed a contract.
Iheanachor played in 32 games with 31 starts over three seasons at Arizona State. He allowed three sacks across 1,159 career pass-blocking snaps. He gave up no sacks as a redshirt senior and earned second-team All-Big 12 honors last season.
The 22-year-old said coaches told him to focus on playing right tackle, which is his more familiar side. He said he practiced exclusively on the right side during the team’s recent rookie minicamp.
The draft picks who’d already signed were cornerback Daylen Everette (third round), guard Gennings Dunker (third), returner/receiver Kaden Wetjen (fourth), fullback Riley Kowakowski (fifth), defensive lineman Gabe Rubio (sixth) and safety Robert Spears-Jennings (seventh).
