Fundraisers

• Manor Lions Club food drive, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. May 19 at the Manor Borough building, 44 Main St. The collection will be donated to the Manor Food Pantry. Nonperishable food and checks made out to the food pantry will also be accepted.

Flash tattoo sale to benefit Mon Valley Paws, noon to 6 p.m. May 21 at Abstract Tattoo, 121 Pennsylvania Ave., Speers. A percentage of sales will be donated. • Golden Dome Knitting Guild will meet at 7 p.m. May 21 at Trinity United Church of Christ, 139 N. Main St., Greensburg. The program will be about making knitted and crocheted I-cords. Senior citizen news

Irwin Senior Activity Center, 310 Oak St., will be closed May 19 for Election Day. The center will close at 11 a.m. May 20 for a blood drive. Sign-ups for the May 26 Memorial Day picnic potluck are being accepted. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be served. Donations are accepted for all activities. Details: 724-787-1760.

Veterans news

A veterans service officer will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 15 in the office of state Rep. Jill Cooper, 105 Pfeffer Road, Suite 5, Washington Township. Services available will include disability and pension claims, benefit questions, assisting spouses with survivor benefits issues and applications for veterans grants. Appointments will be accepted, but walk-ins are welcome. Appointments: 724-387-9113.
