The Divine Redeemer Respect Life Committee receives many urgent requests for infants’ and children’s clothing, especially with the change of seasons. St. Brendan’s Episcopal Church

St. Brendan’s is an open, welcoming and active church that holds in-person worship with Eucharist at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Sundays, and 5 p.m. on Wednesdays. Sunday School for children of kindergarten age and up and nursery coverage for infants and toddlers is offered at the Sunday 10 o’clock service, which is livestreamed on YouTube.
The church holds a monthly Children’s Service, inviting young members to take part by reading and serving during the liturgy. The next Children’s Service will take place on May 31 at 10 a.m.
Young parishioners who will be attending post-secondary schools this fall may apply by June 1 for a St. Brendan’s Scholarship. The program awards grants based on a student’s past years of participation and attendance at church.
The Book Club will meet Monday, June 1, at 1 p.m., to discuss “The Lost Bookshop” by Evie Woods, a magical realism novel about three strangers whose lives become intertwined by a mysterious, vanishing bookshop in Dublin.
St. Brendan’s will march in the Pittsburgh Pride Parade on Sunday, June 7. Participants will leave from the church at 10 a.m.
Parishioners are collecting flour, sugar, vegetable oil, pie filling, Jello, pudding and mayonnaise for the North Hills Food Bank. Donations may be left in the church lobby.
Sticks & Strings, the church group that likes to knit, crochet or embroider, meets on the third Tuesday and first Wednesday of the month at 6 p.m. in the library.

The Kids’ Community Closet is a “free-cycle” community space to share kids’ clothes (birth through size 14/16). All clothing is free and in good, very gently used condition — some items still have tags on. There are no applications, income requirements, or donations necessary.
The Kids’ Community Closet is located at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and is open 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday, and noon to 2:30 p.m. every Tuesday.
