Sidney Crosby recorded an assist for Canada in a 6-0 win against Italy during a preliminary round game of the International Ice Hockey Federation’s (IIHF) World Championship tournament at BCF Arena in Fribourg, Switzerland on Saturday.
Opening the contest on the left wing of the top line, Crosby logged 10:42 of ice time on 12 shift and was 2 for 4 (50.0%) on faceoffs.
Penguins defenseman Parker Wotherspoon started the contest on the left side of Canada’s top pairing and was held without a point. Clocking 10:47 of ice time on 11 shifts, Wotherspoon had one shot.
