North Allegheny won its third PIAA boys team tennis championship Saturday in Hershey, defeating District 1 champion Conestoga, 3-1, in the finals.

The Tigers were sparked by dominant wins from Advaita Sircar at No. 1 singles, Evan Kaufman at No. 3 singles and the team of Shivum Telang and Ronit Ginde at No. 2 doubles.

Sircar beat Ethan Sun, 6-1, 6-0. Kaufman swept Sean Fan, 6-1, 6-1. Telang and Ginde downed Jake Duffy and Will Connelly, 6-2, 6-2.

The Tigers, who also won PIAA titles in 2005 and 2009, have built quite a collection of trophies this season. In addition to taking the WPIAL team title, Sircar won the WPIAL Class 3A boys singles title and Ashwin Sudhakar teamed with Matt Kampi to win the doubles crown.

North Allegheny rolled past Unionville in the semifinals, 3-0. Sircar and Sudhakar won at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, losing three games between them. The No. 2 doubles team of Siddarth Yerram and Ginde also won in straight sets.

In the Class 2A bracket, North Catholic bowed out with a 3-1 loss to eventual champ Cathedral Prep in the semifinals. The team of Jackson Schlegel and Dylan Bopp won at No. 2 doubles for the Trojans.
