Pittsburgh Penguins forward Sidney Crosby collected four assists for Canada, which defeated Denmark, 5-1, in a preliminary round game at the International Ice Hockey Federation’s World Championship tournament at BCF Arena in Fribourg, Switzerland on Monday.
Opening play on the left wing of Canada’s top line, Crosby logged 17:01 of ice time on 18 shifts and had two shots.
One of Crosby’s assists was recorded on a goal by Penguins defenseman Parker Wotherspoon. Beginning the contest on the left side of the top pairing, Wotherspoon clocked 13:41 of ice time on 17 shifts and had three shots.

Penguins defenseman Connor Clifton and Tommy Novak were each held without a point for the United States in a 6-2 loss to Finland at Swiss Life Arena in Zurich.

Novak started the contest as the first-line center and clocked 11:32 of ice time on 16 shifts, had one shot and was 2 for 9 (22.2%) on faceoffs.
