Extra bases: Derry pulled off its second consecutive WPIAL playoff upset behind the pitching on Max Doherty, who won his second playoff game. The Trojans are reaching the semifinals for the first time since 1984, when they were WPIAL champions. Anthony Sacco tripled, Long walked and Doherty delivered a two-run double. Doherty went 2 for 2. … Force went 3 for 3 with two doubles, and Ethan Shank drove in the winning run with a ground out for Indiana. Brady Oakes and Charlie Manzi combined on the shutout. Indiana is the returning WPIAL and PIAA champion. It defeated Derry, 8-3, on April 8 and 10-3 on April 9.

Jake Jellison went 3 for 3 with a triple and RBI, Liam Sommer had two RBIs and Cole Hann had four RBIs. This is the 11th consecutive season Serra has reached the WPIAL semifinals. Serra defeated Greensburg Central Catholic, 3-2, in the 2025 semifinals. Serra has won five WPIAL titles, including last year. GCC has one title. Both teams have qualified for the PIAA playoffs, which begin June 1
