A Beaver County woman was being held in the Allegheny County Jail after Ross police say she was found driving a stolen SUV on McKnight Road on Monday.

Ross police charged Hailey Marie Waxler, 24, of Industry with a felony count of receiving stolen property and summary counts of driving with a suspended license and driving with an open alcoholic beverage container.

According to a criminal complaint, Ross police were notified shortly after 9 a.m. May 18 that a stolen vehicle was traveling south on McKnight Road.

At the Babcock Boulevard offramp from McKnight, one officer pulled in front of the SUV while another pulled in behind it. The driver, later identified as Waxler, was arrested.

According to the complaint, Waxler was found to have a warrant for her arrest out of Moon for vehicle theft. Her license was suspended for driving under the influence.

Moon police charged Waxler May 11 with theft and driving with a suspended license, according to court records.

Ross police said they saw an open and cold beer can in the driver’s cup holder. There was also an open 30-pack of beer on the front passenger floor of the vehicle — police noted in the complaint that Waxler was alone in the vehicle.

Waxler did not have an attorney representing her for the case in Ross.

Waxler was arraigned Tuesday and sent to the Allegheny County Jail on $10,000 bail. She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing May 27 before District Judge Richard G. Opiela.
