Fridays on Fifth event planned in New Kensington

The New Kensington Fridays on Fifth gathering will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday in downtown, rain or shine.

Music will be by Grateful Dead tribute band Terpene Station. Sponsored by the city recreation commission, businesses will be open and there will be music and food trucks. Bring a chair.


Salvation Army accepting summer camp reservations

Reservations for summer camp at the Salvation Army Camp Allegheny in Ellwood City are still available.

Sessions available include Olympics camp, June 29 to July 3 for children age 6 to 12; and music and arts camp, July 6 to 11; and Trailblazers camp July 20 to 24, both for ages 6 to 14.

Cost is $25 per session and includes transportation. Children must live in the following Zip Codes: 15068, 15613, 15629, 15630, 15641, 15673, 15686 and 15690.

Garden stroll event welcoming entries

The Harrison Township Garden Stroll is expanding into Brackenridge and Tarentum.
