Special Olympics torch run launches at PNC Park
The Be A Fan Law Enforcement Torch Run benefitting the Special Olympics in Pennsylvania is officially underway.
A three-day, 150-mile journey, Allegheny County police took part in opening ceremonies on Tuesday in PNC Park.
The Allegheny County Police Department Team then ran its leg of the event later in the day Tuesday, according to their post on Facebook.
The torch is now making its way to State College, and other law enforcement partners will participate along the way, police said.
Penn State University is the host site of the 2026 Summer Games.
$1 million lottery ticket sold in Butler County
A lucky winner in Butler County scratched off a $1 million lottery ticket, according to the Pennsylvania Lottery.
It was a “Win Win Win” game ticket, which costs $10. It was sold at Uni Express on East Main Street in Evans City, according to TribLive news partner WTAE.
Uni Express will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
The winner has not yet been identified.
Pittsburgh police search for missing 11-year-old boy
A missing 11-year-old boy was last seen Monday, according to Pittsburgh police, who are still searching for him.
Khalil Jackson was las seen on the 5100 block of Kincaid Street while leaving for school, police said. He is described as 4-foot-6 and weighing about 80 pounds with black hair.
Police said Jackson was last seen wearing a maroon and blue jacket, sweatpants and Crocs.
Jackson has been known to frequent the Garfield neighborhood, the Hill District and the North Side of Pittsburgh, according to police.
Special Victims Unit detectives are searching for the boy, who police said is considered endangered due to his age.
