Pitt’s 2027 recruiting class was already chock full of Floridians and on Wednesday morning, the Panthers added another prospect from the Sunshine State.

Three-star cornerback Jordan Young became the eighth verbal commitment this cycle for Pat Narduzzi and Co., choosing Pitt over other offers such as Florida State, Georgia Tech, Nebraska, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and SMU.

Young hails from Lakeland, Fla., and attended the same high school (Lakeland) as current Panthers defensive back Shadarian Harrison.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pounder joins quarterback Kevin Verpaele (Merritt Island), running back Tyler Reid (Fort Lauderdale), receiver Jacob Thomas (Pembroke Pines), safety Saniiyn Black (Zephyrhills) and offensive lineman Colin Urrea (Naples) as the Florida recruits who have committed to Pitt thus far.

Tight end Rkyer Reynolds and Philadelphia linebacker Walter Hudson round out Pitt’s class, ranked No. 41 nationally by 247Spots, for the moment.
