Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Parker Wotherspoon recorded an assist for Canada, which defeated Denmark, 6-5, in overtime during a preliminary round game at the International Ice Hockey Federation’s World Championship tournament at BCF Arena in Fribourg, Switzerland, on Thursday.

Opening the contest on the left side of Canada’s top pairing, Wotherspoon logged 15:36 of ice time on 22 shifts.

Penguins forward Sidney Crosby was held without a point. Beginning the game on the top line, Crosby clocked 20:24 of ice time on 20 shifts and had one shot.
