The Beaver County Sports Hall of Fame will enshrine 10 athletics greats June 13 at its 51st anniversary banquet at The Club at Shadow Lakes in Hopewell.
At the banquet, the Hall will honor Beaver County coaches, college athletes and an outstanding male and female student athlete from each of the 15 Beaver County school districts. Moreover, the Hall will induct 10 individuals:
• Jim Cantamessa, who helped lead Blackhawk to PIAA titles in 1995 and 1996 and later played professional basketball in Europe
• Professional wrestling champion “The Franchise” Shane Douglas, from New Brighton
• Blackhawk’s Clayton Hamilton, who played professional baseball in Japan
• Hopewell’s Christa Harmotto Dietzen, who medaled with the U.S. women’s volleyball team at the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics
• Center’s Joe Klimchak, in-game host at PNC Park for Pittsburgh Pirates games
• Freedom’s Tim Moore, three-time USCAA Women’s Basketball Division II National Coach of the Year
• Aliquippa’s Anthony Piroli, who was head strength and conditioning coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during their Super Bowl LV run
• New Brighton’s Mark Ridgley, who was an assistant coach for the NFL Chargers franchise and is a current head football coach in Europe
• Hopewell’s Mike Sirianni, who was Presidents’ Athletic Conference Coach of the Year eight times
• Aliquippa’s Terry Smith, former interim head coach and current associate head coach for the Penn State football team
