If anyone doubts where I stand …

As an ordained deacon in the Catholic church, I stand firmly against the policies of President Trump and his administration. I stand firmly against the witness of the two Catholic bishops who support his policies which are in opposition to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

As disciples of Jesus we accept the entire Bible, giving priority of place to the Gospels, recording the words and actions of Jesus. In the Book of Matthew, chapter 25, Jesus provides a parable: “I was hungry and you gave me to eat, thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me … .”

I may be missing something, but this administration is doing exactly the opposite. When Christians gather, they must proclaim the Gospel (Matthew 28), not some form of nationalism. In the corporate world we often used the phrase, “Walk the talk.”

The apostle James writes, “Faith without works is dead. Show me your faith, and I will show you the works that testify to my faith.” The works of the administration (including those in the cabinet) testify against the teachings of Jesus.
