Pittsburgh’s iconic Three Sisters Bridges will be illuminated Saturday and Sunday in green, white and orange to mark the launch of a new direct airline flight from the city to Ireland.

The “Bridge to Ireland” display across the Allegheny River celebrates Aer Lingus’ first direct flight to Dublin, which takes off Memorial Day and is scheduled four times a week.

Initial round-trip fares are expected to cost at about $500 for economy class.

Allegheny County Airport Authority spokesman Bob Kerlik said Aer Lingus has worked closely with regional partners including the state, Pittsburgh International Airport and VisitPITTSBURGH to bring the new service to market, strengthening cultural, tourism and business links between the two destinations.
