This week’s PIAA baseball rankings are like a hockey puck being dumped deep into the zone, allowing for wholesale changes.

While there were hardly any changes in the two smallest classifications, and a couple of switches in Class 4A and 3A, there was monumental movement in the top two classes.

Of the 10 teams ranked in Class 6A and 5A from a week ago, only two survived to this week.

Perhaps that is a sign of the times now that elite is playing elite during the ongoing district baseball playoffs.

Those postseason will conclude this upcoming week, setting the state for the 2026 PIAA baseball playoffs.

With all the changes, there were only two top teams that tumbled from the top spot as Lower Dauphin takes over for Palmyra in 5A and Taylor Riverside replaces Avonworth at No. 1 in 3A.

The other top-ranked teams remain unchanged with LaSalle College in 6A, Northern Lebanon in 4A, Faith Christian in 2A and Southern Fulton in A still holding on to No. 1.
