The Pittsburgh Riveters rallied for a shocking 3-3 draw with Flower City 1872 on Saturday night when goalkeeper Bailey Herfurth scored the tying goal in the 94th minute at F.N.B. Stadium.
Trailing by a goal with only seconds left in extra time, the desperate Riveters brought Herfurth into the penalty area as an 11th attacker on a corner kick.
Emme Butera curled in a corner that pinballed around the goalmouth out to Herfurth near the penalty spot. The West Virginia goalkeeper rocketed a shot in under the crossbar to forge the tie.

Lola Abraham and Taylor Green also scored for the Riveters (1-0-1), who haven’t lost at home in their year-plus history. Amelia Breton, Sam Cipolla and Andrea Wilson Flower City (1-0-1), a team from Rochester, N.Y.
Abraham, a forward from Pitt and a Riverview graduate, collected a Flower City clear of a corner kick and scored on a bouncing shot from 20 yards to give the Riveters a 1-0 lead.
After Breton tied the score, the Riveters retook the lead in the 44th minute. Ellen Molloy took a free kick into the box, Shannon Studer got a head on it and Green knocked it over the line for her second goal in as many games.
Cipolla scored in the first-half stoppage time and Wison scored in the 81st minute, giving Flower City a 3-2 lead and setting up Herfurth’s heroics.
Next up for the Riveters is a road game against Steel City FC on Thursday at Founders Field in Indiana Township.
