Running a small business in today’s economy means constantly finding ways to do more with less. For us at TruTech Tools, artificial intelligence has become one of the most important tools we use to stay competitive.
I co-founded TruTech Tools in 2007 as an e-commerce distributor of HVAC and building performance tools. Today, as I build the next chapter alongside my son, AI is central to how we operate.
He developed an AI-powered platform that gives us real-time visibility into sales trends, inventory risks and customer behavior — capabilities that once required a full analytics department. He also built an app that helps contractors quickly find and reorder the equipment they need.
For a small, family-owned business, that’s a game-changer. AI helps us operate more efficiently, serve customers better and compete with larger companies. Small businesses nationwide are seeing similar results. According to a Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Voices survey, 76% already use AI, and 93% say it has helped their business.
That’s why Congress should pass the bipartisan AI for Main Street Act. Expanding access to AI tools and training will help even more small businesses innovate and grow.
I urge Sens. John Fetterman and Dave McCormick to act now.
