New business hours are brewing again for an independent coffee house in Harrison.
Harvest Moon Coffee & Chocolates has announced the reopening of its retail location at 1705 Union Ave. in Harrison.
The Heights Plaza location closed earlier this month on Mother’s Day but remained available to rent for parties, events, baby and bridal showers and meetings.
News of the Heights Plaza location reopening was shared online Sunday via Harvest Moon’s Facebook page.
“In the last two weeks, we have received a lot of feedback about the lack of hours in the Heights. With this information, we have decided to offer new hours,” read the post.
Harvest Moon’s sister store by the same name in Tarentum will continue to operate as usual and is open seven days a week.
On Memorial Day, Harvest Moon employee Faith Durci was busy serving customers in Harrison.
She said customers are happy to hear about the reopening.
“We want to get the word out we’re open again,” Durci said.
Desiree Singleton had announced May 10 about the transitioning/closing of the Heights Plaza coffeehouse on Union Avenue and the repurposing of the space to an event venue, noting the flagship Harvest Moon on Corbet Street in Tarentum would remain open, including Sundays.
In a previous TribLive interview, Singleton cited closures of nearby retail big-box stores Big Lots and Community Market as contributing factors for declining foot traffic to the coffee shop.
Harvest Moon offers artisan handmade chocolates, from-scratch drinks, pastries, bakery items and more.
The Heights Plaza location will continue to offer live music from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday nights. Coffeehouse hours are 8 a.m. to noon Mondays through Thursdays, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Fridays and closed Saturdays and Sundays.
