How they got here: Neshannock defeated No. 12 OLSH, 11-1 in six innings, in the first round; No. 13 Brownsville, 10-0 in five innings, in the quarterfinals; and No. 1 Laurel, 7-5, in the semifinals.

Notable: Neshannock has won the last four WPIAL Class 2A softball championships and three of the last four PIAA Class 2A championships (2025, ‘24, ’22). … The Lancers finished tied for second in Section 1 with a 9-3 record. … Senior pitcher Gianna Paglia has been on fire in the playoffs, pacing the Lancers with eight RBIs in postseason play and a 2.33 ERA. Junior Callie Biondi was clutch in the semifinal win over Laurel, hitting the game-winning two-run double in the top of the seventh inning. … Sophomore Gabriella Antuono leads Neshannock with a .547 batting average. … Shenango snapped Neshannock’s 57-game win streak in April. Before that game, Neshannock was 100-1 in its last 101 contests, losing only in the 2023 PIAA semifinals.

Notable: Bentworth topped Section 4 with an undefeated 10-0 record, outscoring rivals 80-8 in section play. … Junior pitcher Sydney Gonglik has been electric this season from the circle, boasting a sub-1 ERA. She has also been impressive at the plate, tallying a team-best nine home runs, along with nine doubles, three triples and a batting average of .516. Freshman Makayla Gonglik leads the Bearcats with a .557 batting average. … Bentworth has allowed more than one run just three times this year and has won by at least 10 runs on nine occasions. One of Bentworth’s two losses on the season was to WPIAL Class 4A championship finalist Elizabeth Forward, 7-4, on May 1.
