The Pittsburgh Hardball Academy is celebrating the City League’s baseball and softball seasons with recognition of its top players for their accomplishments on the field, in the classroom and within their community.

The All-City Awards, now in their third year, will be presented Thursday evening at the Pittsburgh Hardball Academy Training and Education Center in Shadyside.

For the first time, softball student-athletes will be honored. It also marks the first time those from both Perry and Westinghouse are represented as All-City honorees.

Criteria for the awards included regular season stats and coaches’ input.

Baseball award winners are:

Allderdice: Lukas Stead, Noah Landi, Niv Friedman, Hudson Leventon, Luke Weldon, Kingston Mankoski, Sam Hammons, Brendan Stenik

Brashear: Nicholas Sarokon, Henry Simcox, True Crawford, Benjamin Kogan, Maxwell Reed, Chris Thomassi

Carrick: Lucas Geiger, Jaiden Gill, Tre Settles, Milton Addison, Ra’Marlo Crawley, William Garrett, Caleb Hipkiss

Obama Academy: Roman Gray, Emerson Bahler, Elijah Rawlings, Caleb Myers, Luke Ehman, Braylon Johnson, Jordan Braizer, Elias Shope, James Kozecki

Perry: Issac Long

Westinghouse: Tommy Moses, Logan Marcario.

Softball award winners are:

Carrick: Jayda Rose, Aubrey Czapko, Niyah Walden, Ambrie Tinsley, Jaelyn Klodowski, Jayla Dansby

Obama Academy: Mia Quarles,Jaylyn Holyfield

Allderdice: Sierra Cruz.

Obama captured the City League baseball regular-season title with an 8-0 record and then defeated Brashear for the playoff championship May 11 at Greenway Field in Sheridan.

The Eagles, 14-6 overall, saw their season come to an end Tuesday with a 6-1 loss to District 6’s Bellefonte in a PIAA Class 4A subdivisional matchup.

Carrick rolled to the City League softball regular-season crown at 10-0 and topped Allderdice for the playoff title May 18 at Volunteer Field.

The Raiders concluded their season at 16-3 with a loss to Bellefonte in their PIAA Class 4A regional championship game at Firehouse Field at South Side Park.
