Bell Avenue in West Leechburg has a little more work to go before its makeover is complete.
Residents along the street were notified Wednesday that the borough’s public works will be carrying out construction on a short section of Bell Avenue, between South Avenue and West Leechburg Hill Road.
Work began Thursday and is expected to last over the next several days, according to the borough’s Facebook page.
The road will reopen in the evening at the end of each work day.
The work is a continuation of previously postponed work along the street.
Peoples Gas conducted gas line repair work on Bell Avenue and surrounding streets last fall. While there was some patching done shortly after that work, the gas company conducted more restoration efforts, including paving a portion of the street earlier in the month.
“This project is in preparation for paving the remaining section of the street that was not paved by Peoples Natural Gas,” the post said.
During construction hours, Bell Avenue will be closed and motorists will have to detour around it. Residents will be able to access their homes, but may have to use a detour to get there during work hours.
