As summer finally kicks into high gear, so does the Pittsburgh concert schedule.
There are a pair of country shows at Acrisure Stadium, a sold-out arena featuring another country star and a free show celebrating America. Here’s a look at the top concerts scheduled for June in the Pittsburgh region:
Top concerts
June 5-6: Morgan Wallen, Brooks & Dunn/Ella Langley, Gavin Adcock, Zach John King at Acrisure Stadium
Country singer Morgan Wallen brings his Still the Problem tour to Pittsburgh for two nights at Acrisure Stadium, with Brooks & Dunn as direct support on Friday and Ella Langley on Saturday.
Wallen was named Best Male Country Artist at Sunday’s American Music Awards, with Langley taking home Best Female Country Artist.
And if these shows are like previous ones on this tour, Wallen will be joined by Pittsburgh sports stars when he first takes the stage. (In Gainesville, Fla., last weekend, he hit the stage with Tim Tebow and Steve Spurrier.)
June 16: Megan Moroney, JP Saxe, Solon Holt at PPG Paints Arena
Country singer Megan Moroney keeps growing to bigger venues. After a sold-out show last year at Stage AE, the “Tennessee Orange” and “I’m Not Pretty” singer moved up to PPG Paints Arena, which also quickly sold out.
Moroney, a self-described “emo cowgirl,” took home the Best Country Album award at the AMAs for “Cloud 9.”
June 27: Nelly, Third Eye Blind at Point State Park
Pennsylvania is celebrating America’s 250th year with five big concerts across the commonwealth, including a show featuring Nelly and Third Eye Blind in Pittsburgh.
Nelly, who also performed in Pittsburgh as part of the NFL Draft, is known for rap hits like “Hot in Herre” and “Ride Wit Me,” while alternative rockers Third Eye Blind went six-times platinum with their self-titled debut that featured songs like “Semi-Charmed Life” and “How’s It Going to Be.”
