2 top-ranked teams fall in latest Trib HSSN state baseball rankings

Only five teams lost their spot in the Trib HSSN Top 5 state baseball rankings during the final week of the district playoffs.

Some of those that dropped out get a second chance card to play with a berth in the 2026 PIAA baseball playoffs that begin Monday.

But from here on in, any loss means season over, no matter your record.

Two top-ranked teams from a week ago were bumped from their perch.

In Class 5A, Lower Dauphin lost in the District 3 finals and fell from No. 1 to No. 5, opening the door for Pittston Area to slide up a notch to the top spot.

In Class 3A, Taylor Riverside lost in the D-2 title game and its season came to a jolting end. The new No. 1 team came up from No. 5 in Mifflinburg.

The other four top-ranked teams remain unchanged with LaSalle College in 6A, Northern Lebanon in 4A, Faith Christian in 2A and Southern Fulton in Class A still holding on to No. 1.
