There is no more safety net; there is no more tomorrow if you come up short.
It’s time for the PIAA softball playoffs to begin.
There are 16 teams from 12 districts in each of the six classifications ready to battle for a state championship.
Most of the teams ranked in last week’s Trib HSSN state softball rankings were able to win their district title this past week.
However, seven teams slipped out of the Top 5, opening the door for seven others to enter the PIAA postseason ranked.
There was only one change at the top of the rankings as West Shamokin lost in the District 6 Class 2A playoffs, allowing Bristol to move up a spot to No. 1.
The other top-ranked teams remained the same from last week with Central Dauphin in 6A, Shaler in 5A, Kennard-Dale in 4A, Sharon in 3A and Union in Class A still at No. 1.
