Anything That Floats regatta planned at Leechburg’s Pink Day

Kiskiminetas Watershed Association will sponsor an Anything That Floats Regatta at 11 a.m. Sept. 19 in Leechburg as part of the borough’s Pink Day celebration.

Families and groups are encouraged to bring their most creative float-worthy craft and float on the Kiski River from the Hyde Park canoe and kayak ramp to the Leechburg Riverfront Park outtake. Prizes will be awarded for the most creative watercrafts.

Registration is $25 per craft if paid on Zeffy.com and will be $30 on the day of the event, cash only. Money will be refunded if the event is canceled due to weather or river conditions.

Community carnival coming to Vandergrift

The Vandergrift Community Carnival, sponsored by the Sia Center, will be Tuesday through Saturday in Kennedy Park.

Hours will be 6 to 10 p.m. each day, weather permitting, and there will be entertainment, food, a petting zoo and rides.


Fundraiser to aid shooting victim

House of 1,000 Beers, 357 Freeport St., New Kensington, will sponsor a fundraiser to benefit one of its employees Dominik Dellach who was injured in the recent shooting at Niki’s Quick Six in Parks Township.

One dollar from every draft beer sold Monday through June 7 will be donated to Dellach for medical bills and living expenses. There will also be a basket raffle and food specials.
